Welcome to the new website of The 50 Mile Challenge.

The Challenges are not races. They have a simple purpose: to give individuals the opportunity to take on a challenge that tests both mental and physical fortitude in a safe, well organised environment.

Everyone who takes part in the Challenges is a winner no matter how far they get. Everyone who completes the Challenge gets the same medal regardless of the ‘position’ in which they finish.

We are committed to making everyone feel welcome and cared for whilst remembering that the Challenges are tough and are probably going to cause most people a degree of pain and discomfort. However, we also believe that everyone who takes up a Challenge will know more about themselves when they finish than they did when they started. Whilst we do our best to offer every encouragement possible to help you achieve the objective ultimately it will be your mental and physical strengths that carry you through.

What is The 50 Mile Challenge and how do I take part?
The 50 Mile Challenge and Moonlight Challenge are organised runs/walks that take place in Kent. The 50 mile Challenge is fun and can also be used as a great way of training for adventure races or of raising money for charity. The challenge consists of a safe 6.55 mile course (total distance: 52.4 miles to be completed in under 15hrs) which allows competitors the option of dropping out whenever they wish. The course record is 7hrs 1min! The route will be fully signed and marshalled with first aid and water stations provided. [ Read more ]

Sandbaggers have launched their little shop as a support service to those taking part in our events or elsewhere. Some of the products have been researched, designed and manufactured themselves (such as their famous desert sand gaiters which remain ever popular with MdS racers). The other products supplied are those they know will do the job well - things used in the past and are happy to endorse as fit for purpose. For this reason they don't stock much but know what they stock won't let you down. Click here for information or enquiries.
